  Hearts were all a flutter on Valentines Day just out side Reflections Gift Shop at Milford Hospital. The Squirrel's Nest had a table set up with Chocolate, Chocolate and more Chocolate! • 2011 Peach Festival

  I thought this year I would post a picture of the kitchen crew! God Bless Them! They worked all day with out a complaint. Of course since they don't have time to eat I had to make sure there were plenty of nibbles for them other than peaches. Oh and lots of coffee! I'm sure they were dreaming about peaches in their sleep that night. But what a great day at The Nest! Customers lined up through out the day for the once a year peach treat. • 2011 Delaware State Fair

    Monday July 25th was chocolate day at the Delaware State Fair. The Dover building filled with chocolate lovers as we entered wearing Lucy and Ethel hats. I’m sure the hats let them know there was going to be some humor in our demonstration.    My niece Becky Gaffney had set up the display for Fitzgerald Salvage and Recycling (won first place) and was able to get away long enough to be my helper. Needless to say she is not ... more
• 2011 Wilmington Flower Market

  We are excited to be a sweet addition to the Wilmington Flower Market held at Rockford Park in Wilmington. Since 1921 Volunteers have raised funds for children in Delaware. Many hours go into making the three day event a success. Games, rides, and fun things to eat make the day special for the little ones.   When most think of The Squirrels Nest Candy Shop they think of melt in your mouth butter cream, raspberry cream and cocoanut cream. Or maybe chocolate turtles, pretzels, or caramels. But each year in August there is another delicacy being produced as well.   18 years ago when the merchants got together looking for a way to bring people downtown,  Nancy Kemble owner of The Squirrel’s Nest wanted to come up with something peachy to drawl these people into her store... more

  Lucy and Ethel sighting! If you happen to be at the Delaware State Fair on Chocolate Day you may just have gotten a glimpse of Lucy and Ethel. Memories of the episode in the Chocolate Factory were all the buzz in the Dover building. Several years ago when asked to do the demonstration Nancy Kemble owner of The Squirrel's Nest Candy Shop decided to add the Lucy and Ethel twist. She just happened to have two hats lying around.   Middletown's annual Peach Festival  is a day of fun and chocolate here at the "Nest". It is by far our busiest day of the year as people drive from all over for our famous chocolate covered peaches.   Like everything else we make they are made with all natural ingredients.
