2011 Delaware State Fair
|Date:||July 29, 2011|
Monday July 25th was chocolate day at the Delaware State Fair. The Dover building filled with chocolate lovers as we entered wearing Lucy and Ethel hats. I’m sure the hats let them know there was going to be some humor in our demonstration.
My niece Becky Gaffney had set up the display for Fitzgerald Salvage and Recycling (won first place) and was able to get away long enough to be my helper. Needless to say she is not lacking in the “lets have some fun” department. At one point with a swift move she stuffed something chocolate in her mouth. I have no clue what it was but do know that her mouth was very full. I think the word chipmunk was mentioned in the audience.
Being senior day most of the audience was ~ you guessed it ~ Seniors! As I dipped pretzels, cookies, marshmallows, and crisp they sat back soaking in not only the air conditioning but all our silly chatter about the candy world. They were able to sample our work at the end of the demonstration.
